The hardware-store bucket does not publish a three-year number because it does not have one. The stocked Roof Coat does: 0.74 reflectance, independently verified, still working when the cheap stuff has chalked off.

The basic kit contains the specified Roof Coat, compatible sealant, exactly two rolling pads and the Sundown Application Guide. No roller assembly or pole is included.
Clear Coat is the same ceramic base without the white pigment. It is slightly cloudy on a bare surface, so it is specified only over our Roof Coat as the harder protective top build. It is not a clear polyurethane finish.
What arrives is a Sundown system, not an orphan bucket: the selected coating path, compatible sealant, exactly two rolling pads, the Sundown Application Guide, and the roof-file instructions that document the application process.

We find a bonded and insured contractor in your area — anywhere in the country — ship the material to you or to them, and keep our own technicians on the line while the work is done so somebody experienced is watching the specification. Priced from the roof, because the roof decides the work.
Veteran and senior discounts come off before you see a number, and every price here can be split over months. If a measurement says your roof needs less than a full kit, we will tell you that too.

The reason a hot house stays hot for another four summers is almost never that the owner did not care. It is that the fix arrives as one number in one payment at the worst time of year. So we took that off the table before you had to bring it up.

Anybody can sell you a pail. What almost nobody sells is the part that decides whether it works: someone identifying what your roof actually is, what it can take, how much material it needs, and what has to happen before a drop goes down. That is the product. The coating is what the consulting arrives in.

- Nobody honest can answer that without measuring your roof first — and anyone who quotes you a temperature drop before seeing the substrate is guessing. What we can tell you: the stocked Roof Coat publishes 0.88 initial solar reflectance and 0.74 reflectance at three years. The EPA confirms cool roofs can stay up to 60°F cooler at the surface and cut peak cooling demand 11–27%. Your roof file tells us what that means for your house specifically. The assessment is free.
- If it were paint, we would sell it at the hardware store and skip the roof review. Paint is pigment in a binder. Sundown specifies a ceramic microsphere system to a film thickness, applies it over a substrate-matched prep sequence, and verifies it against published radiative values most coatings never disclose. The difference shows up at three years — when paint has chalked and the stocked coating still reads 0.74.
- No — and we will tell you that before you spend a dollar. A coating is not a repair. Soft decking, trapped moisture, and active leaks get resolved first, because sealing over a wet assembly makes the problem worse and harder to find later. If your roof review shows structural issues, we will say so plainly and recommend the right fix before any coating is specified.
