Reflected
Incoming solar energy returned away from the surface in this mechanism view.
Free roof assessment 88% reflected. Measured, not promised.
Your roof absorbs 90% of the sun's energy and hands it straight through your ceiling. The Sundown system flips that equation with a roof-qualified coating path: 0.88 reflectance on day one, still holding 0.74 at three years. This is not a hardware-store bucket. This is a measured roof file.
Substrates the system is qualified against: EPDM, TPO, Fiberglass, Metal, Aluminium skirting, Fibre cement, T1-11, Previously coated, Stucco, Vinyl
Before we talk about coating anything
Nobody wakes up wanting roof coating. You are here because something has been wrong for a few summers and the usual fixes did not fix it. See if any of this is your house.

So the door stays shut and it becomes a storage room. Or somebody sleeps on the couch in August. You have moved the vents, added a fan, closed the blinds, maybe put a portable unit in the window. It helped a little the first year.
How long has that room been off the table — and what is a room you cannot use worth over three more summers?
You have had somebody look at it. Maybe they topped up the refrigerant, maybe they told you the unit is fine, maybe somebody quoted you a bigger one. A bigger unit against the same heat load is a bigger bill doing the same losing.
What have you already spent on service calls that did not change what happens at four in the afternoon?
Pull twelve months of statements. If June through September stand well above the rest, that gap is cooling. Most people have stopped opening those bills carefully because there has never been anything to do about them.
Multiply that gap by four months, then by however many summers you plan to stay. That is the number this decision is actually against.
The sun went down three hours ago and the house has not let go of the day. That is heat that went into the structure this afternoon coming back out of it now, and no thermostat setting reaches it.
How does it feel to run the air conditioning at bedtime in a house that should have cooled off on its own?
If none of that is your house, you do not need us and we would rather say so now. If two or three of them are, the thing they have in common is overhead: a surface absorbing sun all day and handing it down through the ceiling. That is the one part of this nobody has offered to change.

Compare like with like

Price comparisons only mean something inside a tier. Fire-test and Class A language for this system is still in the review column of the evidence room until the report, product, substrate and current listing scope are assembled.
Not insulation paint. Surface physics.
Drag the intensity and switch the surface. The animation separates what is reflected, what becomes roof heat and what can be released.
Incoming solar energy returned away from the surface in this mechanism view.
The smaller residual becomes heat in the roof assembly.
Published ability of the surface to release absorbed heat as infrared energy.
Interactive mechanism model, not a thermal simulation. Published radiative values must be matched to the stocked formula and batch before use in a customer quote.
Thermal split
Incoming solar energy does not vanish. It splits. The published radiative table sets how much leaves the surface and how small the residual is that the assembly has to carry.
Published radiative split
Producer-published values. Match the stocked formula and batch before quoting a roof.
Published producer values, not a predicted job result
The $89 bucket vs. the $499 system
The hardware-store bucket does not publish a three-year number because it does not have one. The stocked Roof Coat does: 0.74 reflectance, independently verified, still working when the cheap stuff has chalked off.
The Sundown Coatings operating stack

Reflect, then release
Reflectance turns the majority away at the surface. Emittance decides how fast the small absorbed residual is released instead of held in the roof assembly. Both numbers matter, and most sellers only quote the first one.
The mechanism
Mechanism view, not a thermal simulation. The surface decides how much energy stays.
What weathering does
Day-one reflectance is the easy number. The published three-year value is the one that tells you what you actually bought, and it is the number a coating brand has every incentive to leave off the page.
Aged performance
Reflectance falls as a roof weathers. A brand that only publishes day-one numbers is showing you the easy half of the record.
What Sundown publishes: 88% of the sun turned away at the surface.. 0.74 reflectance still holding at three years.. The number every other brand hides? We publish it.. $499.95 for the Roof Coat kit. Not a naked bucket.
What lands on the doorstep

The basic kit contains the specified Roof Coat, compatible sealant, exactly two rolling pads and the Sundown Application Guide. No roller assembly or pole is included.

Clear Coat is the same ceramic base without the white pigment. It is slightly cloudy on a bare surface, so it is specified only over our Roof Coat as the harder protective top build. It is not a clear polyurethane finish.
What arrives is a Sundown system, not an orphan bucket: the selected coating path, compatible sealant, exactly two rolling pads, the Sundown Application Guide, and the roof-file instructions that document the application process.
Roof, wall or stucco

Roof Coat is for roof assemblies. Wall Coat is for exterior walls. Marina + Stucco Coat carries grit for traction on marina and other wet walking surfaces. Clear Coat is the slightly cloudy ceramic base used only over our Roof Coat.

Built from inside the RV
“This is not an abstract roof category to me. It is the ceiling over my own home.”
Sundown Coatings is being developed by an RV owner, with the first public case record built in the open: roof condition, weather, application, infrared readings, interior response and the parts that do not go perfectly.
Three ways into the system

Kit and installation pricing stays roof-specific until the formula owner releases the final coverage/application specification. That prevents a low headline price built on the wrong number of gallons.
The arithmetic
Gallons follow measured area and a released coverage rate. Until the formula owner publishes the final specification, quoting a kit price would mean guessing at the one number the whole job depends on.
Why the kit price waits
A low headline price built on the wrong number of gallons is not a deal. It is a failed roof with a deposit attached.
Published, not extracted
Material ships in 5-gallon buckets. How many depends on your measured surface, which is why the roof gets measured before anybody quotes a job total. What does not move is what a kit costs.
The kit
$499.95
The Sundown Roof Coat kit starts with a 5-gallon Roof Coat bucket, the selected support materials, exactly two rolling pads, the Sundown Application Guide, and access to live application support.
Clear Coat option
Quoted
Clear Coat is not clear urethane or polyurethane. It is our ceramic base without the white pigment, and the ceramics can look slightly cloudy on a bare surface. That is why it is specified only over our Roof Coat as the harder protective top build. Final quantity and price follow the measured roof file.
Managed installation
Quoted
We find a bonded and insured contractor in your area — anywhere in the country — ship the material to you or to them, and keep our own technicians on the line while the work is done so somebody experienced is watching the specification. Priced from the roof, because the roof decides the work.
Veteran and senior discounts come off before you see a number, and every price here can be split over months. If a measurement says your roof needs less than a full kit, we will tell you that too.
Handled before you ask
The reason a hot house stays hot for another four summers is almost never that the owner did not care. It is that the fix arrives as one number in one payment at the worst time of year. So we took that off the table before you had to bring it up.
Homeowners and RV owners
Pay-over-time through the providers people already use for everything else. You pick the plan at checkout, the same way you would anywhere online, and the work gets scheduled on the roof’s timeline rather than your savings account’s.
Approval, terms and any interest are set by the provider, not by us. We do not see your financial details and we are not a lender.
Program contractors
Certified crews take delivery of material on 20% down, complete the job, collect from their customer, and settle the remaining 80% plus interest afterwards. You stop financing other people’s roofs out of your own working capital, which is the thing that actually caps how many jobs a crew can run in a season.
Available to certified crews on the roster. Terms are agreed in writing before the first pallet moves.
Material ships in 5-gallon buckets and is quoted against the measured surface, so the financed number is a real number rather than a guess dressed up as a monthly payment.
Payment options: $499 split over months costs less than your summer AC bill.. Contractors: 20% down, settle after you collect.. Real price from your measured roof. No surprises.. Stop paying the power company. Start paying yourself.
Not a bucket of paint
Anybody can sell you a pail. What almost nobody sells is the part that decides whether it works: someone identifying what your roof actually is, what it can take, how much material it needs, and what has to happen before a drop goes down. That is the product. The coating is what the consulting arrives in.
Your surface identified and graded, the failure points found, the film target set, and a written specification for your roof rather than a generic one. This is the part that stops a job going wrong.
Roof Coat in 5-gallon yellow buckets, with Clear Coat specified only when the file calls for the upgrade. The published coating values are 0.88 initial solar reflectance and 0.74 reflectance at three years.
Everything the released kit calls for: compatible sealant, exactly two rolling pads, and the Sundown Application Guide.
A full instructional video and a printed booklet covering prep, weather gates, film thickness and closeout — so a competent owner or any crew you hire can execute the specification rather than improvise it.
An optional second pass made from the same ceramic base with the white pigment left out. It is not clear urethane or polyurethane, and it can look slightly cloudy on a bare surface, so it is applied only over our Roof Coat.
Photographs, readings and a closeout file for your property. It is what proves the work was done to specification — at resale, at refinance, or the next time somebody asks what is on that roof.
American engineering, Redding CA
The ceramic microsphere technology in the stocked Roof Coat was developed from thermal-protection engineering originally created for extreme environments. It is manufactured in the United States and shipped from our warehouse in Redding, California. Two real founders, one real location, and a product we use on our own roofs every day.
Veterans
If you served, there is money off your RV or manufactured home — not a token, a real reduction, and it applies whether you take the kit or the managed job. No hoops. Tell us when you open your roof file and it is applied before you see a number.
Seniors
Fixed incomes and hundred-degree Augusts are a bad combination, and the people in that spot are usually the ones who need this most and defer it longest. Same deal: a real reduction on a single RV or manufactured home, applied up front.
Both discounts stack with pay-over-time, so a lower number can also be spread across months. Ask when you start the roof file — we would rather apply it than have you find out afterwards that you qualified.
Pay how it suits you
Card, wallet and pay-over-time, processed through Stripe. Approval and terms are set by the provider. Veteran and senior discounts apply before financing is calculated.

The formula owner’s project files record this application. We state that it happened and nothing more — no service life, no condition report, no performance story pulled from a bridge and pointed at your roof. But it tells you something about what this chemistry can take.
